Soggy Bouganvillea

The rain just will not stop in Southern California. It used to be a rare occurrence to catch moisture in outdoor shots. No longer.
It certainly looks heavy with the rain -- though the gray skies make for great color.

lovely vibrant red against the green.. love how the veins stand out.
your plants now will either flourish like you've never seen or they will rot from over-watering.. i hope you get the former..

"Soggy Bougainvillea"? Have you never been to the tropics?! It rains all the time there and these things spill over every wall! Step back! They're about to take over!

The bougainvillea seems to be thriving on the rain. We could do with more here at the moment. some rain has fallen over the last few days, but much more is needed.

Love this ... one of my favorite blooms and the rain is nice, in reasonable portions of course...

Just think how happy the bougainvillea is with all this rain! Vibrant shot you got.

Beautiful strong colours, I hope you get a break from the rain soon

@taffy Thanks Taffy. Good point about the skies. I crave sunshine and blue skies, but when it's overcast I always remind myself that it's much better for taking photos. Lemons and lemonade.

@jorlam Thanks for the comments and the well wishes. We have gotten a few days which have been rain free, but more rain is on the way this weekend. I'm optimistic about the flourish option.

@Weezilou Yeah, they're pretty hard to kill....although I have had the honor of bringing a few to an untimely end.

@onewing Thanks for commenting Babs. We've had similar needs. Our drought was many, many years, and even though we've been inundated, they still haven't declared the drought over. Yours will end - but it's rarely "just the right amount."

@swwoman Thanks so much for the kind words. We've been desperate for rain so no complaints.

@lyndemc Thanks Denise. At least one of us is happy.

@naomi Thanks Naomi. We got a break from rain today and tomorrow looks good too, but more is on the way soon. My mood is affected greatly by the presence or lack of sunshine. I may ask for some of those meds. ;-)

@stray_shooter life does seem to deal in "feast or famine" timelines I think...
