The Sea Was Angry

We've had plenty of high surf warnings lately - so naturally I had to head down to the beach and try to capture the danger. This is the San Clemente pier, photos of which I and others have often posted in the past. The waves were pretty impressive and they almost reached the pier. I went up on the pier and it was somewhat disconcerting as the pier would noticeably sway as the waves struck. I didn't stick around long as this pier has actually collapsed as a result of storms a couple of times over the past 70 years.

I was actually trying to capture my version of an image that is hanging in one of the restaurants on the pier in which the waves are actually crashing overtop of the pier. I guess I'll just have to wait until a bigger storm comes along.
