Another Growing Family

Following yesterday's post of the baby hummingbirds, I thought I'd continue the theme. This is a mama coot feeding one of her new hatchlings. I had no idea that the youngsters were so brightly colored. They're so cute when they're young....and so annoying when they grow up and invade the 14th green!

@onewing Thanks Babs. I didn't time it quite right, but mama was actually feeding the youngsters. What, I'm not sure, but they seemed to enjoy it!

@mwhipple I was honestly shocked at how bright their colors were. So dull as adults, but so illuminated as babies. Doesn't seem to make for very good camouflage.
