dragonfly sculpture

In the pool just below the first of the 14 locks is this bronze scuplture of a dragonfly. Why a dragonfly? These are to be found in abundance along the banks of the canal. Look closer and you will see that is is a collage inspred by canal boats and waterways. The scuplture is the work of Joanne Risley and Barry Callaghan, and was unveiled in 2001.
