Dabbling

I had this crazy idea that because I could take photos I should be able to draw!! I have a reasonable understanding of light and shade and tones, light direction and so on but..... When it came to presenting that in a sketch it was so much harder than I expected

I love your gumboots Sue. This is my favourite but all the sketches are great. I dabbled in sketching and then watercolour many years ago, but could never do exactly what I pictured in my head. This is where I am really enjoying photography, because I know what I am wanting to portray and it just seems so much easier to do it.

@joysabin It's so much easier to take a photo and edit it than sketch but I wan to preserve

@dkbarnett Photography is certainly easier than sketching but I there are some amazing artists in the Foxton area and I feel privileged to be able to dabble in their company and hopefully learn from them. Good for the brain!
