beautiful day, yes, it was. if only the temperature was a little warmer, by about 25 degrees. but we're just inching towards the first month of the winter, plus we had been given an early break what with the weather being so unseasonably temperate most of the last few weeks. so fat chance the 25 degrees is going to happen. well, unless there's going to be a thermo-nuclear explosion or that polar reversal is already well underway. but i don't think so.
this is the danforth, what used to be a major artery of toronto in the good old days. now it's just the good old danforth. my street. walking towards the subway station west of my building the sunrise drenches the top of the buildings and the trees with its warm glow.
it was too cold to go anywhere to catch the actual sun rising so its magic is all i can capture of the sunrise. there's the morning moon for an added interest. i won't tell you that i was still in my pyjamas underneath the pants and the heavy coat just so i can photograph the sunrise. oh, i just did.
thirteen treasures left to hunt, and i admit i'm a fool to have left the harder ones last. may have to call little wahoo for help next week.
feels very cozy -- the morning sun coming up a well traveled street with so many stories...golden light despite the cold! (Thank goodness for the heavy coat to wear over the pj's - -haha! ;)
Something very universal about this scene . . we all have a "street" that we know as home. Or a neighborhood. Beautiful shot, summerfield. Evokes memories of roots for me. (would love to have seen you in your p.j.'s!)
@catsmeowb - i know, for the art! every morning i rush out when i see the pretty clouds prettified by the colour of the sunrise and when i get there, the shot's gone because i took my time to change. thank you, camille.
@karenann - no, you wouldn't want to see me in my pj's, believe me! thank you, karenann.
