white tulips by summerfield

white tulips

these three tulips look like the three stooges, don't you think so?

i'm wondering how long i can sustain this sooc thingy and using the coolpix, too. some shot don't turn out as sharp even when i use a tripod.

cropped only. sooc but for the name tag.
They are beautiful in that position..lovely three ladies! Stunning shot with the coolpix and love the background. You gotta know how to use a camera to get something this great with a p&s and SOOC. So, you my friend, are a great photographer!

I hate to say it but the opened mouth look of the top one has me singing "feed me Seymour"

oh I LOVE these tulips!!! The white against the black is so dramatic!

Not sure about the Three Stooges- they don't have the right hair color to be them. Maybe the three tenors because they all have their mouths open and look like they're singing. At any rate, they're quite pretty (another strike against the Stooges who were funny, but not pretty- lol). When I'm going to shoot anything close with my p&s I use the macro setting (even if it's not really macro). My camera seems to prefer that and focuses better that way. But mine's a Canon and it may function differently than your Coolpix. The black background really sets the tulips apart. Nice!

lol! I don't think they look like stooges but they sure are pretty!

I have to disagree, I never thought of the stooges as beautiful. LOL

@karenann - i'll take that coming from you. and i thank you, karenann.

@cscecil - thank you, my ego booster, i mean CS. :-)

@olivetreeann - i do use the macro buttons of my camera, too. maybe i'm shooting too close. i read somewhere in the website of a photographer saying that to get the best macro shot, the camera should be suitably away from the subject. we live and learn, i suppose. i'm happy with this shot, except for the shadow of my camera on the two lower flowers that i just now noticed. thank you, ann.

very pretty... i like your pov ... tulips always seem very surreal to me

@crickle1969 - it depends on the temperature of the water you put them in. and they also grow longer then they take on the shape they want. thank you, chrystal.
