tulip by summerfield

tulip

variegated with double petals. it was a standout amongst the dead bushes and the other tulips growing beside the cathedral's entrance. there were jonquilles and hyacinths and tulips of pink and orange, purple and scarlet, but this was the only one of its kind, just one single plant. so it deserves to be photo of the day.

and goodbye, picnik. you made some of my photos pretty with your mirror frame. thank you.
This is unique and looks like it should smell like peppermint

@pandorasecho - oh, you mean those little shiny candies from a long time ago? yeah! thank you, dixie.

Stunning ... gorgeous to the max! The color is fantastic and have never seen one like it. I would have paid to keep picnik. What little I ever did with it, I loved. So sad.

@karenann - thank you, karenann, for you very generous comment.

picnik is supposed to be in google+ but i can't find it and that program is always asking for a lot of information that i really don't care to give anyone. ipiccy.com is picnik re-born, and as @roth commented the other day, with more bells and whistles. 365 has made it alliance with picmonkey which doesn't have the mirror-frame effect like ipiccy.com does. i don't want to try anymore websites or i'd go nuts! i'm not a techie and i'm usually happy with the minimum processing i do on my pics. plus my canon can actually do some of the processing, too.

Gorgeous flower. I've never seen one like it. It definitely does deserve to be the picture of the day- and a fitting send off your beloved mirror frame in Picnik. Glad to see it living on in iPiccy!

Very gorgeous flower! Nice framing too.

Beautiful!

@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. gorgeous, indeed. several years ago, i read that the variegated tulips and those with the frilly edges were all caused by fungal disease in the bulbs and thus evolved as a variety. if only the fungal disease in humans would do the same...hahaha!

I agree with you, summerfield. I don't want to go to google and give out info .. no way. I will try picmonkey and see how that goes. Like you I use very little (that's all I'm capable of learning right now .. computer illerate here you know!) Photoshop is way over my head, I'm sure. And I can't see well enough, or even know enough, how to edit in the camera. What a joke that would be on "upload!" lol I wish that they would sell picnik software for $20 or something. Something that we could just keep and not worry about anymore. Thanks my friend. :)

Very nice photo- the flower is gorgeous and the lighting gives it a dramatic mood. I always wanted to pay for Picnic so I could get frames like you.

this is such a beautiful blossom. i have been using all the editing programs and like all of them. each has something to offer, and all are faster in loading the photos than picnic was, at least for me. i never read picnic's 'the ant's' explanation for why they closed. did anyone else?

@catsmeowb - thank you, camille. picnik had made their alliances with google+ a while back and now it's part of the google+ creative kit, whatever that means.

@cscecil - thank you, CS. you're so kind!
