as i was coming out of the subway, i saw this girl on this house's balcony roof talking on her cellphone. so before i exited out of the station, i took a few shots of her. i suppose that was the only way she could find solitude and privacy when she's on the phone. the left photo was a crop from the first shot (through the thick glass walls of the station), which looked like she was looking at the camera, but she wasn't.
my moody canon still have a good zoom on days when it's in the mood.
This is GREAT! When i see young people walking our neighborhood with cell phones or something like you got here, I just remember that age so much when you wanted privacy. But we had land line phone and it was in the middle of the house....I am just now remembering that in the house I lived in in high school, the main phone was in the kitchen on the way to the den..I'd get the receiver and go away from those two areas, to the landing on the top of the basement steps and then close the door to make myself a little "phone booth." Thanks for the memory "jog."
that cracks me up!!! Growing up (one telephone in the house and no such thing as cordless) if we got a phone call and wanted some privacy (in a house with 9 people in it!!) we would stretch the cord to where we could sit either on the inside basement steps, or sometimes even stretch it out the back door!! This reminds me of that and makes me laugh! Great shot!
@espyetta - well, you're welcome and thank you, too, MB! back in the old country when i was growing up, i had to walk five blocks to get to the nearest phone, actually a landline at the pharmacy and heaven forbids if you get there and someone else's hogging the phone. then there was the nasty party line to deal with.
