specifically, a 1962 GMC truck at the port hope vintage cars show.
partner surprised me this morning by driving an hour northeast of toronto to this town by the water where they had this event. so many cars on display, so many photos to take! i loved photographing the old cars. there was a 1961 hawk coupe studebaker in the colour of a flamingo that was awesome. but it was being judged so the hood and back were open and of course the shots weren't as engaging.
partner, however, loved this 1962 GMC truck and couldn't believe how well kept it was despite its age. there was even an old style metal lunchbox on the seat! so this post is for him.
thank you for your views and comments, my lovely friends; know that they are much appreciated. i'm behind again, but will try to catch up soon!
I can see why he would love this beauty ...wonderful pov and striking colors! Was that old metal lunchbox a black one? I remember my Dad carrying one (curved top) everyday to work. Wow ... you just brought back some great memories, summerfield.
@karenann - yes! yes! i took a few photos but because the seat was also all black leather, it didn't show that well on photos. memories, indeed. thank you, KA.
@bkbinthecity - thank you, brian. if you were at that show, you would have loved to be there. so many vintage cars, and you can touch them, too. every time a car is admired, you can see the look of pride in the owners' faces, and jealousy when it's the next car that's being admired!
@summerfield hI vikki.. the chilly conditions and snow falls were inland ,so quite a distance from us...NOt that it hasn't been cold ,the high mountain peaks got a dusting here along the coast but we have had torrential downpours so travelling out into the mountains has not been to inviting,So no no pics of snow.Did you recieve my steelenews news letter i sent out on the Namibian trip?some folks did not seem to get it.
@steeler - yes, i received it. enjoyed it much. thanks.
@cscecil - thank you, CS. much appreciated.
