for the next five saturdays starting today, my photographs will be about gustatory sensation, in particular, sweet sensation. i know! i know! some of you are on a diet, but believe me, i am, too! but, after years of trying diets that never worked, i found out that dieting is actually eating anything you want to eat...but in moderation; and that it's worse when you deprave yourself of the things you want to eat. or drink. or munch on.
gustatory sensation is, according to thefreedictionary.com, "the sensation that results when taste buds in the tongue and throat convey information about the chemical composition of a soluble stimulus. sweet sensation is the taste experience when sugar dissolves in the mouth."
patisserie la cigogne next door makes the best french cakes. if you have been following my albums for a time now, you would remember those cakes and danish pastries i've posted somewhere. i don't think i have posted yet a photo of "baba au rhum", a.k.a. "rum baba" or simply "baba". it is a yeast cake similar to a bundt cake but soaked in liquor, notably rhum and sometimes served with whipped cream.
Photographed superbly, I love the chocolate curl smile; would I eat it? No, you are welcome to that but should you post a glass of wine I may have to hunt you down;0)
oh my- so much more interesting than any sensation I could think of! Yum yum! You must certainly show these folks your pictures and see if they'll pay you for a copy with more patisseries!
