get pushed #26 - the harris shutter effect - again
second and last attempt at the push. my living room smells like a temple now, i can feel all the ancient gods and goddesses sending their blessings. i better go buy a lottery ticket.
since the end product is not as great, i decided i'd make a collage showing the three photographs that are actually nice captures of smoke. i think my problem is that the blue is too blue but the red is not red enough. whatever! i'm happier with this one though.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; much appreciated.
Green and purple are my favorite colors! I really like that you chose the collage and to show us the progression. I really like the end result - lot. Fav for me. On my bucket list . . .
Lovely result! Thanks for sharing the individual shots as well. I had a go using water but my merge didn't give desired result, end result stayed blue! I will have to have another go.
@olivetreeann - not happy with it still, my friend. but i'm high from the vanilla-chocolate flavoured smoke, that's probably why it still didn't get to the result i wanted. thank you, ann. i might try this again in the future when i'm not pressed for a result.
@claireuk - thank you, claire. you're always very kind to me.
@salza - thank you, sally. i meant to use a flag but it was so cold outside so i had to use smoke shots again. but in the future, i will try it again.
@jannkc - jann, all photos are almost black and white because you need a black background to get the smoke. entirely different set up. then you process each individual shot to get the 3 different colours, then using layer in pixlr, you put them together. the result should be that the background and the incense stick would retain their original colours but the smoke will be in red, green and blue. for some reasons, the dark or black surface had a tinge of green even though the green shot was in the middle of the layers. there's a link in yesterday's shot for the 'how to'. if you have photoshop maybe you can make a go of it, too.
@summerfield Sounds good. I wonder if we could organize a meet-up with any other bay area 365ers. Might be fun. When you get closer to knowing the dates let me know and we can do a post.
@summerfield I hear you on the incense. I cannot burn it because I have such a reaction to it. But I do think you got some excellent pictures of the smoke here. I like it that the red and blue have combined to make purple rather than staying distinct. It gives it an edge of not looking like everyone else's.
@olivetreeann - that's a good way to look at it. now i feel good about this shot. thank you, ann. you are so wise beyond your years, my dear friend. i'm thankful you're my friend.
@roth - the republic of summerfield and roth? tee-hee! thank you, sue.
@bkbinthecity - thank you, brian.
