for the get pushed #47, my friend mike @mikegifford challenged me to create an action diptych or triptych whereby there is movement in every photo, each shot needs to be from a different sport, however they are all similar or related". the movement part wasn't a problem, the sport part was.
the trips to the skateboard park didn't pan out either because of the rain or surprisingly the few times i went there, there were no skateboarders (what's wrong with those people!). went to one of the soccer practices at the soccer park but it was a bust, i was too high or too far from the subjects, as no photography was allowed from a certain distance - coaches/parents' choice not the players.
on the weekend of the push deadline, partner and i had met up with a couple of his friends to see the thoroughbreds at woodbine and got a few shots of the horses. that #4 horse won race 5, memorable because it was the only race i bet out of six that didn't give me a return for my money as i bet him to place second. :-P
last thursday, i took the ferry to the islands and stalked the planes landing at the airport against the backdrop of the downtown buildings. i had to hdr the photo as the plane tended to blend in with the background (not sharp enough maybe?) then painted back the background to its original state.
i'm tagging this for joyinjune because i enjoy taking panning shots and methinks i do make a decent job of it.
