to a" week-long" celebration: partner has arranged for the grandsons to spend the day with us today, as he continues to pamper me for my 60th birthday. my birthday was on tuesday, july 2, but we started celebrating it the weekend prior. i was very happy to see the boys, and they were quite ecstatic to see us.
we picked them up mid morning and then went to the toula restaurant at the top floor of the westin hotel, offering us a view of the city and lake ontario. the boys love to dress up for formal dining and today, there being no "chicken nuggets" on the menu (no kids menu here) they had spaghetti and grilled tiger shrimp.
the first thing little darren whispered to me was "sorry, we couldn't greet you on your actual birthday." he's such a sweet boy. we actually have a photo together as he taught me a little bit how to use my new cell phone (yes, it is the start of my phasing out the expensive landline). i still have to learn how to move those photos to my computer.
so here's my dessert after our lunch. we have 'summerlicious' happening in toronto. it is a city event where participating restaurants around the city offer a pre-fixe menu for a lower price. this special tiramisu is part of the lunch package.
