i have never been one who like dolls, i think they're creepy. my sisters liked dolls when we were little girls. charlene had a doll named "susie"' she and my two other sisters liked to play with the doll. susie had blue eyes, blonde hair, big boobs and long legs. and she was always on her tippy-toes. what irritated me most was when they would place little lovely susie on my wooden living room suite that out father made for me one Christmas. okay. so the suite was meant for a doll house, but there was no doll house and the suite was mine.
one day i discovered that susie's four limbs and neck were detachable. you can imagine the wailing little charlene made whenever she'd see Susie's body parts in the wall's ledges up high where no one, not even our big brother could climb.
"oh, Charlene, who put your doll's leg up there?"
"i don't know, maybe there's a ghost!"
"nah, there's no ghost, charlene, and if there was, you know i'm not afraid of ghosts." she bobs her head agreeing with me. "do you want me to climb the wall to get susie's leg?"
"yes, please." she wipes her tears with the back of her little hand, holding a legless susie.
so i climb back to get susie's one leg. now the problem is where the heck is the other leg? ooops! i think it's up there in the branches of the guava tree.
@redy4et - not seen any of the "toy story" movies. i rarely played with toys as i preferred to read even back then. thank you, elizabeth.
@claireuk - i was a good girl :-D thank you, claire.
@deburahiru - tee-heeee! whenever my sisters talk about the susie doll i just 'correct' them by saying it's the other sister who did it, to which i get a lot of protests! but that's my story and i always stuck to it! thank you, deb.
The story is hilarious. Was Susie a Barbie doll? I wasn't terribly into dolls myself, but once when I was too old to be playing with dolls (maybe middle school age) my friend and I were bored and pulled out all her old Barbies. We had clothes all over the floor, totally immersed in play and her older sister walks in the room. Feeling like idiots, we tossed the dolls over our heads and tried to look innocent. No we are not playing Barbie at age 12!! So funny.
What a naughty sister you were all part of growing up I guess.
