i discovered a new store to buy lunch cheap but fresh. they have this santa doll on the counter. the lady, probably in her attempt to please me, me looking asian and all, switched this thing on. it then started to play "santa claus is coming to town" but the tune was altered as well as some of the lyrics to suit the style of that korean guy who is so popular with a lot of people apparently. i told the lady that i find it disgusting and that the whole damn thing is not a tad funny. she told me everybody finds it funny and amusing. i told her "i am not everybody and i am not amused!"
and then i take a photo and post it here. sonamagun! this is not to amuse you, it's to provoke you, so go on, say your bit.
I find personally that Christmas has become so commercial. People buy cheaply manufactured goods for extortionate prices. I'm with you when it comes to this 'decoration'
I agree with both yourself and @salza i hate everyone making such a big deal asking me "Are you ready for Christmas yet?..." and looking at me like i have suddenly grown two heads when i say "Scrooge had it right when he said Bah-humbug!!..." and then when i explain that i find Christmas has lost it's message with all the commercialism and so forth. And that christmas is about our lord coming to save the world, family and giving what you can afford!! NOT how much you can get yourself in debt, and who has bought the best present or has the biggest tree and such like... GRRRR!!!!
Oh, dear. I have to go with you on this one. Not only because it's Santa but all of those dancy, singy things. The snowman, the fish, the vampire, the rabbit and all of the others. I think it's the repetition. I'm still finding them under beds and in closets where I've hidden them from the children : )
I suppose it's each to their own really! I don't mind some of those sort of decs, I do have a little singing snowman', but he's cute! I still prefer all the traditional decorations though. I think the true meaning of Christmas has been forgotten by lots of people unfortunately. I always like to go to a carol service, it makes me feel more Christmassy!!
