inspired by wendy helton's @photohoot response to my challenge, i played with smoke tonight. wendy's photo reminded me of isadora duncan, the beautiful, free-spirited american dancer who loved to wear scarves. i was specifically looking for the "flowing" smoke that would look like the late dancer's scarf as it flowed in the breeze as she rode in a car before the accident that killed her. she actually died of strangulation when the scarf she was wearing, draped around her neck, became entangled around the open-spoked wheels and rear axle of the automobile, breaking her neck.
this is not quite as smooth as wendy's photo but i like the flow of the smoke tails here. these are actually two shots, the green one overlaid on the purple one. i like that little face at the end of the purple smoke, kinda like a ghost.
processed in ribbet, or make that etsooi'd in ribbet.
Me likey! Fav! I will never forget seeing an old movie about her with my mom. Especially the choking scene. My friend's sister almost had that happen when her winter scarf got tangled up on the go cart's axle! Scary!
@espyetta - i remember now, i've seen that movie but the ending was not shown, it was just suggestion or voice over. i loved vanessa redgrave. thank you , MB.
@summerfield suggestion... Yes. Back then, they did not feel like they had to show every gory detail of something. And especially because it was a true story... Would have been tacky to show more
@espyetta - if they do a re-make of that now, they'd be showing everything complete with the sound of her neck breaking as nowadays nothing's sacred anymore. :-)
