couldn't wait

we are in the deep freeze once more. people in toronto are getting to be very cranky with this deathly cold weather. first time i had the opportunity to watch the st. patrick's parade and because of the extreme cold, i had to forego it. there's always next year.

i didn't have the energy nor the inclination to leave the comfort of my home to visit the magnolia tree i was stalking to see if they had persisted. so instead i give you this flowers which are part of a large arrangement i have in my living room. i would not profess to know flowers so i don't know what this sucker is. if you do know, please let me know and i will update my text.

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are always appreciated.
It looks familiar but I'm no expert... I'd guess either Gladiola or Snapdragon as I think both of them grow on tall stalks this way. But I know wildflowers better than cultivated ones. Sorry about the cold snap- but love the shot.

I've always called them snapdragons. As kids we'd put our thumb and first finger inside the petals and make them "talk!' They used to grow in my Grandmother's backyard. Very pretty!

Snapdragons is what I'd guess they are. I don't blame you for staying in and keeping warm and dry!
