we met with louise and ken in sherbrooke village, two hours north of halifax. there is an actual village there, called 'sherbrooke village' established in the 1700's and the structures retained and maintained. it is open to the public in the summer. here's one of the ladies who tends one of the shops in the village.
i think i may have found my calling when i retire. i should like to have a job like this, dressing up and giving tours to people about the history of a place, or a house. i'm positive i can do such a job.
we have arrived in lunenberg this evening and louise cooked scallops that were to die for. ken baked a cranberry-rhubarb crumble pie that is also to die for. i think i like it here. i may not go back to toronto! :-)
continuing beau's @losthorizon september people challenge.
@joansmor they drove all the way, but sitting in the car with them and listening to the banter, you know they're quite companionable on such a trip! And Vikki, this is marvelous! I kept looking for a spot to include the river; you got a terrific one! I couldn't be happier that you liked this village as much as I did! We'll visit you often when you retire there!
