in canada this is known as "rockets" while in the U.S. it is known as "smarties". i don't know the whole story here but i'm guessing, the brand "smarties" is owned by nestlé and are sold as candy covered chocolates, similar to m&m. but in the US the brand 'smarties' pertain to these candies. both are manufactured by the same family-owned company ce de candy inc. i would guess that ce de candy registered the name "smarties" with the USPTO first.
in any case, smarties, rockets, same same. i no like this candy, tastes like chalk that's been dipped in lemon and sugar then dusted with something else. but there were several in the office cafeteria, probably someone's left-over from halloween!
I only know smarties as candy coated chocolate, plus I really like them! As a youngster I can remember having similar looking sweets that we called sherbert sweets. For the life of me I cannot remember what the correct name for them was.
Cool macro capture with great details.
Pretty pastel colours! I like how you filled the frame with them!! I used to love these when I was a kid but I'm not too fond of the now... just too sweet!
I've never been a fan of them either. They only half taste like the flavors they're supposed to be. But really, if you're going to have candy, you may as well have chocolate!!
