my sister and i are in jacksonville, florida for the weekend to attend the 90th birthday celebration of my aunt juliana. aunt juliana is the remaining living sibling of my mother. her youngest daughter was there together with her daughter, my aunt's granddaughter, and her granddaughter, my aunt's great granddaughter.
i had the idea of taking a photo of the four generations of women in their family. my aunt has 10 children, four daughters and six sons. nine are married and have children and the eldest daughter is a spinster. the two other married daughters don't have granddaughters so this is the only one that filled the four-generation shot.
my cousins feted their mother (my aunt) with a luau, and it being a filipino celebration, food and booze were overflowing. there was a large roasted pig, boiled lobster, a giant fish deep fried and served with a plum sauce and julienne of vegetables, spring rolls, creme caramel, and lots more, and watermelon punch for the children. beer was in abundance and so was ice cold water as it was so hot here today as were the last several weeks, apparently. believe you me, after most of the guests left with containers of food, there were still so much that there is no doubt my cousin's family would have no need to cook for the rest of next week.
thought i'd present this shot as an entry for the album challenge.
