i remember reading all the posters about the movie "the greatest show on earth" when i was still a young warthog back in the old country. one of the photos in the posters was an elephant standing on an orb.
my get pushed challenge this week comes from kali @kali66 and her push is " I have settled on compositional thinking for you, using negative space and the rule of thirds. so your subject definitely wont be smack dab in the middle and the space around it will be empty, or at least an interesting shape."
processed in camera to black and white so still sooc.
lots of negative space here to be sure, so different to see a diminutive elephant! I wonder if you have thought about composing this with the rule of thirds, do you know what that is? if not there are many webpages that describe it, I have found my compositons are much stronger for being aware of it. . If the elephant was somewhere about the bottom left third junctions there would be a little more black space behind him and less at the top so that the spotlight would be filling the bottom third horizontally, I copied it and looked at it myself in photoshop, you could try some different crops with this in mind and see what you think.
i see you are trying to do your work sooc, once you have tried this out by cropping and it becomes second nature you will be able to think about it whilst taking the photo, my camera even has an overlay on the screen to show where the third lines cross.
