we arrived in ottawa after the sun had set but the sky was still light with the sun's glow, and the clock tower of the parliament building was already lit. there were a lot of people milling about and partner gave me just a few minutes to take photos as he was parked on a no-parking zone. took this in haste as it also started to rain. i couldn't decide if i should've focused on the building or on the tulips. the tulips won, as you can see. i had to clone out a light standard that appeared taller than the clock tower and the adjacent traffic lights and some tourist-y types who were curious what i was doing crouched low behind the tulips planter next to the garbage can. that yellow thing on the left is quite difficult to clone out so i left it (for now). i have better photos, i promise, but i just had this idea in my mind and had to let it off my system.
thank you for your kind views and comments; know that they are sincerely appreciated.
I like the yellow bulletin board thing. That is what is is, right? Like they have in France? I am laughing so hard at the image of you on the ground taking this as people stare like you are nuts. This is gorgeous!
So I'm looking at everything backwards and I think I like this one a little better. If the "yellow thing" really bothers you, this photo could take the crop. In my mind it wouldn't look lopsided if it wasn't there. I think I like the tulips in focus a bit better- but I do like the other one too.
