and she came to solely to listen to the blues band play. from among the crowd at the barbeque i spotted her, she stuck out because she was different, in demeanor and well, she was just different. i figured she's an artist of some sort. she didn't talk to anyone nor did anyone talk to her, until i came up and introduced myself and chatted her up. when the band started to play, she was the only one dancing, oblivious to all the stares and whispers, lost in the magic of the beat of the music.
and i was right, she's an artist. and her name was maggie. and she loved her purple hat.
So you take stranger pics all the time...but just do not label them for 100 Strangers project. You are so brave! I got my first stranger shot, but it will take forever to get close to 100. I like your description of her. It must be so liberating not to worry about others' perceptions of you. I am pretty much like that...but not as much as Maggie here.
@espyetta - MB, she's only my 8th stranger, i still have 92 to go. :-) it's not easy for me to approach people, but sometimes, i seem to know who to approach. i've also been refused quite a few times (but that didn't deter me from taking sneak shots hehehe!). i'll be posting her close up in the next few days. everything's just so busy these days i could hardly keep up with anything. thanks, MB.
