Teresa @pocketmouse is my get pushed partner this week and she "would like to see a motion shot - a pet moving, a child jumping - something that is full of motion, with a fast shutter speed..."
no pets in the household and the grandchildren are not available this week so i kind of left this for last minute thinking i'd get to the skateboard park. i did stalk the passing cyclists and cars in front of the building but the old italian men at the pub across the street thought i was photographing them (yeah, flatter yourselves, buckos!). partner suggested we go to the lookout and see if the sunset would be any good. i welcomed the idea because right below the lookout is taaa-daahh! the don valley parkway where speed is always the name of the game (when there's no traffic, hahaha!). so, while partner was blabbing about 'the clouds over there' and 'look at the clouds in there' i was trying to capture the fast moving vehicles below. i knew i'd be lucky to get one good shot, just one is all i needed for teresa. and i think of fifteen or so, i got three. after that, i took photos of clouds about which time partner figured i wasn't listening to him. so i got the "what is the artistic value of a moving car?"
I do love your story and you must appreciate partner trying to help! Anyone else would also think the same - a car - speeding - hello! However it can be seen that some cars were really speeding!
You got it! Hopefully your next "get pushed" partner will pick out something that Partner would like you to photograph too. After all for all the chauffeuring he does, he should get to pick out one or two shots!
