i'm often conflicted whenever partner and i would go for a drive to take photographs. do i take the nikon or do i take the canon? the canon is heavier than the Nikon. the Nikon takes live colours but so does the canon. the canon takes sharper photos, but it has some kind of lens distortion. schucks! actually they're both good cameras; i just have no idea how to use the bloody bastards.
but recently, as i took photos of my valuables, especially my jewelry, both for insurance and will purposes, i found that the smart phone actually took better and sharper close ups/macros of the little trinkets and such.
this is for the five plus two conflict theme. i know, cliché but mike gifford got first to the idea i had in my head. oops! pun unintended. plus he's better with the photoshop. check the tag to see his photo.
@jsw0109 - and you were gorgeous, too, my friend! :-) thank you.
@bobfoto - come to think of it, my first two digitals were olympus and I was happy with them. i'm looking to buy a mirrorless but maybe next year. thank you, jason.
If I ever get to buy a big girl camera it's going to be a tough job. I see a poor beleaguered salesperson somewhere in my future as I try out every camera in the store and still unable to make up my mind.

@deburahiru - can i have a new one? :-) thank you, deb.
I do find myself 'pinching' himself's iPhone a bit more these days
