sometimes it is okay to break some rules, just don't land in jail.
taken last sunday and processed tonight. i didn't take any photo at all today and there were a lot of events in downtown toronto. but it's raining and miserable so i can't be bothered. i have to do that photo walk tomorrow morning, so yay! more fall colours in wet conditions though.

I once heard someone say, that the time to break a rule is after you actually know them. Since you seem to know your photography rules = your allowed. :-) great colors on this one.
Actually although you have placed the subject in the center vertically, you do have thirds horizontally- the leaves are in the upper two horizontal thirds and the sky completes the third. But the eye does not really see it at first. Aside from all that- the shot has great colors and it's very attractive. Good one!
@northy - the worldwide walk was today. but there's also a special version for tonight's nuit blanche. i'm not aware of any photo walk for tomorrow though.
@summerfield rats... missed it... spent most of the day running around to hockey things with the boys... and really wanted to go to nuit blanche, but couldn't make that happen either :(
