"avoid the middle"

one of the rules of photo composition (according to this article kindly provided by nia @sianipops: http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/2012/04/12/10-rules-of-photo-composition-and-why-they-work/ ) is to avoid putting your subject in the middle of the frame.

this sort of breaks that rule, however, as placing the branches off side or higher does not create this almost realistic view, so i purposely put the middle branch almost to the centre of the frame. for me this works, rule or no rule, n'est-ce pas?
Rules are for sissies. I like this. I don't know why I say what I say sometimes. Great framing with the branches, rule breaker.

Beautiful color. And as they say, rules are meant to be broken!

I think it is nicely balanced like this - one has to use your noggin that has built in judgement!

True- and as we know from Mr. Patterson, rules can be broken!

I like it, it's as if the colours are layered. I also like the watery background

Works for me. I think the branches coming in from the corner lead you to your focus nicely.
