these two overloaded grocery carts were 'parked' on the side of the road. they probably belonged to a homeless person or two homeless persons and i imagine they were inside the tim horton's shop having hot coffee and trying to get warm as it was quite cold and windy. and they were probably getting a kick out of someone taking a photo of their carts.
meanwhile, people saw these and they looked away; i'm not sure if it was disgust or angst etched in their faces as they did. maybe disgust that this should happen in a 'rich' country? maybe angst as this reminded them of the truth that this could happen to anyone, anywhere.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
Amazing to think someone could live with all their earthly possessions packed into a shopping cart. Even more so when you think they're in the Northern Hemisphere with its frigid winters. Good shot!
My husband and I were just talking about this. We were reminiscing about moving from place to place, during college, and how all of our stuff could be placed in our respective cars. I would not even want to think about moving now ! We have been so blessed ! I personally know people who "live off the grid." It's an interesting life. For those who do not choose this or suffer mental health issues, I am saddened. I'd like an easy button for this.
This photo tells a very sad story. I've seen people pushing carts like these filled with all their worldly possessions. I'm surprised they would leave them in the street like that, though maybe they were close by? Great capture Summerfield.
Hello Summer. I am your get pushed partner for the week. You have done a lot of challenges... so my challenge to you is to participate in http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/20149/5-2-for-the-love-of-selfies-naked ... I know you participated last time in the 5-2, but this one intimidates me. I hope you have fun and come up with something that makes you shine again.
