my get pushed challenger this week is rachel hope @hopess13 and her challenge is to "take a landscape photo with a dramatic horizon line and then break the rules for horizons. make it crooked, put it in the middle, something. But do it purposefully."
from the redpath sugar beach, looking east. the lake is still frozen but starting to thaw. the tanker in yesterday's photo is right at the centre, the downtown buildings ten or so blocks behind me.
the day was supposed to warm up just a few degrees, the sky was partly cloudy with the concentration in the eastern horizon, remnants of a beautiful sunrise this morning. the black spot on the left is a baby bear. no, i'm kidding, it's a garbage bag that either someone deliberately threw in or the fierce winds last week blew it in.
sorry if this makes your neck a little bit sore. but i thank you for looking in.
:) Hard to do isn't it???? Makes you want to go straighten it in PS...but it also makes the viewer really look and turn your head and figure out what is where and you spend more time getting the details! Thanks for playing along!!!
Definitely a Dutch angle- and then some! I think even the Dutch would want to straighten it just a bit- (o: But the angle makes you look twice. We have a baby bear in our burn pile. At least that's what my brain thinks every time I look out the kitchen window and see the charred stump of a tree that Jeff left there before the winter set in.
