bicycles and picnic by the water

i saw the silhouette of the bicycle resting against an old tree trunk by a pond when we were in the islands yesterday. there was a pair of girls having a picnic at a table nearby. as i pressed the shutter, a seagull landed and walked across, how rude! but i like the result.

the scene is quite dreamy. for some reasons, the greenery at this time of day in bright sunshine looked dead, so black and white i thought would be a good choice, then i upped the whatever it was i upped to get the high key effect.
