we drove around norfolk county to check out the fall colours. we stayed in port dover which is located in the southwest part of ontario and on the north shore of lake erie. it is known around ontario for its romantic sunsets. the surrounding towns are mostly farms but we found a couple of orchards. this orchard i liked best as all the trees were rife with gala apples and it is the first time i've seen an apple orchard. yes, twenty-five some years here in canada and i've never been to an orchard let alone seen an apple tree teeming with fruits! the nice thing too was that this abutted the main roadway. i could've picked some apples off a tree or even the ones on the ground, but i didn't as all i wanted to do was to take a picture of it.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
Ooooh, nice oh. Did you pick...oh I see you did not. I remember the days when I was a kid when FL was full of orange groves. We'd sneak and pick them sometimes.
Those apples look so tasty! Living in a valley that's full of orchards (albeit no apple orchards) one forgets that they are something that not everyone gets to see that often!
Wow, 25 years without visiting an orchard. It must be 40 years since my first visit to one. My wife (now former) and I used to go there every fall back then. That one was converted to subdivisions in 1997, no longer there at all.
