walked around the neighbourhood yesterday morning for something to photograph. passed by an old duplex with overgrown lawn and decrepit fencing. i saw these two guys watching the world go by. the one in front kept moving back and forth perhaps to the consternation of the one in the middle which was stoically sitting and looking at me as i took a few shots. normally i wouldn't bother with something like this but i like the reddish brown leaves and the two cats inside the window. i wish the owners were a bit more tidy and organized but i would imagine the cats have something to do with the dilapidated blinds.
thank you very much for your kind visits and comments; know that they are so much appreciated.
Wonderful capture! I imagine them as marmalade kitties, even though the photo is in B&W. Our next door neighbors have an indoor tabby kitty that comes to the window and watches me whenever I do something in the sideyard. Keep thinking I would like to photograph it, but I never have my camera with me!
The torn up blinds and textures of the brick and window sill all combine to give this image the perfect feel for the B&W edit you have chosen. It would not have been nearly as effective if even one of those elements were missing!
@salza - i know, there's something so charming about it! thank you, sally.
@panthora - they're dark gray, almost charcoal. it's a pity the windows were really dirty and with the sunlight on it, the dirt really showed and quite difficult to clean up post-processing. thank you, osia.
