there was a time when i was into needlework, particularly cross stitching. i had done so many complicated projects, especially the 'lavender & lace' patterns which were mostly victorian in style. but if you will look around in my apartment, i only have four hanging on my walls. most of my big projects were given away as presents. i had the complete set of dmc threads in a holder/binder complete with codes and the equivalent in another brand, along with beads and metallic threads. i think i had all issues of "jill oxton's cross stitch australia" from 1993 to 1995, aside from the british "cross stitcher" magazines. i have a few that i never got to finish and they were supposed to be for myself.
then life happened and new hobbies and new skills were discovered. some of my magazines and patterns were given away, some were sent to my sister in the old country. and yet i still have one full box. would anyone like to have them? :-)
but the ones that i kept were my needles. i hate the regular needles with very tiny eyes you almost need a magnifying glass to thread a needle. or eye glasses. :-) plus my needlecraft needles are thin and sharp and they glide easily through any kind of fabric, natural or synthetic. the real plus are the large eyes or holes and they make threading so easy.
thank you for your visits and kind comments; know that they are truly appreciated. i'm still way behind in commenting but i browse through your albums whilst sitting in meetings. :-)
Fabulous image with terrific detail. After my cataract surgery I can no longer thread a needle without glasses either
. If you find any takers let me know and I will send what I have as well! Not as much as you ……but enough.
Nice, simple, and great detail. I don't know what you are talking about though when you mentioned dmc and codes. Oh, and you forgot the 1 in 2014 in your watermark. :-P I could use the kind of needle you mention though, with the wide eye and easy glider.
