it is a wonderful world we live in, despite the bad that is in it. to be able to hear the laughter of children, to be able to see all the wonderful colours around us, to be able to feel the textures of the leaves and a loved one's face, to be able to smell and appreciate the aroma of fresh baked bread, and to be able to taste that bread with ice cream, why wouldn't we be thankful? there are so many wonderful things that we must be thankful for - family, friends and friendship, jobs (really, we should!), 365.
it's a beautiful world, it's wonderful to live in it!
this week, we are joining our american friends in celebrating thanksgiving - in black and white no less!
thank you, folks, for your visits and kind comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
@amandal - well, kiddo, had you lived in the third world, you'd know that bread and ice cream are a great combination. and bread and ketchup make a really delicious sandwich, too! :-D thank you, kiddo.
Bread and ice cream wow. One of the things I made when the girls were young that became a favourite was brown bread ice cream. I would grill brown bread with brown sugar to add to the ice cream mix (once cooled). It gave a lovely caramel taste. There's a grown up version too, where you can add whiskey to the mix! Yummy.
I love the composition of your picture. It's great in b&w.
I love the picture. Now I've got to get some bread baking. The ice cream will have to come from the store...or maybe the downstairs freezer where the older-than-teenage son stashes ice cream.
Bread and ice cream... well, different but really not that far a stretch when you think of the other things we combine with ice cream- cookies, brownies, birthday cake...so I guess it might taste good. I like the lighting on this- and I'd love to see candles flickering in the glass orbs.
