if not for that moon, i wouldn't have had my butt frozen off.
i was tired, hungry and sleepy whilst riding the streetcar going home. i had earlier taken some blue hour shots at the park but the wind picked up and it grew colder so i caught the first streetcar for home. then, almost nearing the station, i saw the darn moon, looking so pretty and the city skyline sparkling against the evening sky. i got off on a whim, forgetting that i was hungry and tired. i had before taken shots of the skyline from here, where the football field (below) but never with the crescent moon above. you can see the whole moon but the right side of it was brighter from the sun that had long set. it made me feel good and hopefully it would carry over to tomorrow where too much work awaits me.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly and genuinely appreciated.
We had heavy clouds and laden gray skies all day. My best friend had the audacity to tell me how lovely the moon looked whilst we were chatting as I drove home. This is lovely! Now I can tell her I had a chance to see it as well! Thanks for freezing your butt off. I appreciate the view!
The things we do for photography!! We are all loony bins, and lunatics (did you notice the pun there?!), and good for you for being impulsive! This is a beautiful sparkling skyline, and the moon is amazing.....I have been enjoying watching the sliver of the crescent moon with the hazy outline of the full circle. If I may make one suggestion, I would urge you to crop out the bottom half of the photo.....the glow of the streetlights on the trees and the street are really distracting from what should be the focus of your photo, that is the moon against the skyline! I am sure you could just do it in Picmonkey and still keep the photo and the comments here...
