rain: two haikus by summerfield

rain: two haikus

rain pelted on trees
lightning guiding the assault
me, i'm numbed with pain.
...

he's gone with the rain
his mem'ry washed away and
i'm alone again.

i suck at haikus.

it had been raining here all day; it had been a cold and damp day. so i took the bus and went to the toronto gardens. i was shooting that waterfall from above a bridge when i had the fancy idea of walking down and shooting from underneath. crouched down on the rocks and saw the large patch of different coloured rhododendrons at the far end of the creek where there's a smaller bridge. then the rain got stronger and my camera got wet and it wouldn't show the pictures. i waited for a few minutes and it was actually a problem with the sd card which was new. good thing i had a spare in my purse. so after a gazillion shots, this is all i have to show you. :-P

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
Very powerful words, with a touch of melancholy. Beautiful serene scene.

that's a photographer for you with a spare sd card. Not so sucky at the haikus.

haikus not so bad. Great pov for this image. Glad it was just the SD card. Can you return it?

Great POV

I love the POV and outcome. I carry spare SD cards in several places for the same reason. Never can tell when I'll need one! I really like the words, too.

love the haiku except you sound too sad. i, too, had sd issues this weekend, went through 3 of them - kept getting the message ' card full' although i knew they weren't. bought a new one, so far, a-ok, except it was way more money than i expected to pay for it.

I am no haiku expert but I think these were fabulous! I also liked the low POV of the shot and total composition! So glad you had the extra card

@bill_fe - no, i don't think so. however, i was able to copy from that card whatever photos i had taken but for some reasons they wouldn't erase and the camera couldn't re-format it either. weird day for photography yesterday although i still had 400-plus shots. then the nikon died this morning. :-P

Very pretty. Nice capture of the running water.

@catsmeowb - sad stories and poems used to come to easily to me. now i find it hard to write about emotions, probably because i am older and getting to be more senile! :-)

@summerfield Is it possible the card is locked? Sometimes, when I remove my card I accidentally drag the slider to the locked position.

@bill_fe - first thing i checked, my friend. now the camera won't turn on or off without me opening the battery compartment.

Very pretty! Oh dear- I hope the camera's not damaged too badly from the rain!

A beautifully tranquil flashback!

And here I am again, commenting on your flashback, two years later! I DO like this image's composition very much. (Wonder what it means when I am attracted to an image in flashbacks repeatedly?)

@summerfield -- that would be "awesome"! Taffy is awa for the summer so autumn would be better for us. Please be sure to let us know -- so we can coordinate.
