a different breed

i brought my brother and sister-in-law to the rosetta mcclain gardens east of toronto. at the main garden there are plenty of this red sunflower. first time i've seen them this big. quite interesting, really!

stayed away from downtown toronto today and will be during the weekend, as it is the opening ceremony for the pan-am games. i'd have wanted to watch the pyrotechniques from the island but i was told half the 3 million people of toronto were gathered!

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated. pardon my lack of commenting as family is visiting.
Its a bit like a burnt orange sunflower! Pan Am Games, eh? Wonder why we don't hear about them! Used to be able to see them!

I have never seen a sunflower that wasn't yellow so this is really cool. Enjoy the time with your family.

Hi, again. It was two years between the first and second time we were get-pushed partners but only two weeks between the second and third. Can I have another go at "in the style of Northy" to see if I can make a better job of it? How about another ant's POV for you?

You've done a great job with this sunflower!! You have no idea how much I appreciate the way you have captured it as I am currently growing these at my own backyard! Unfortunately, they are always turned to the sun and I can never get them with backlighting like this one, and frankly, they just don't look all that impressive. Maybe it is because I have so much other vegetation, but they are truly disappearing amongst the rest of the plants. I love the color, but I don't think I will plant them again... :-(( FAV!
