wooo-hooo! first assignment completed. here's a head shot of my laughing little guy who swallowed a big watermelon. used the raynox macro filter then cropped a little bit. played around in photoshop, ribbet and ipiccy (is there an ETSOOI challenge going on?) to get to this abstract-ish result. he looks like a lot of wisdom is emanating from him. he's back on the window sill and is happy he doesn't have to pose for me.
next week, it is seven of something portable. join me and prof. billy, won't you? here's the low-down:
carry a subject/object with you and put it in the frame no matter where you are shooting. think about the famous traveling gnome. bring a favorite “thing” on your outing and figure out how to include it in your images. notice how it dictates framing and composition. be creative with your placement of your portable subject.

something to think about: my posting on monday, "i swallowed a really big watermelon" had 4 faves and was featured on the pp, for less than two hours. however, it does not appear in my list of popular images. the wednesday post, however, has no favs and yet it made the pp and appears in my list of popular images. i think the magic monkeys are a-slacking on the job!
