large book, little book by summerfield

large book, little book

i was set on photographing the fake peonies for today's large/little photo. but i glanced at the bottom of one of my book shelves and saw that i have a hardbound book titled "The Discovery of the Titanic". awesome! because i liked reading anything about the titanic and i could read them again and again. then i remembered that this book was supposed to be in paperback, which i had read from front cover to back cover not too long ago. what gives? i was going to chuck it to being old and senile when i saw on the other shelf the same book, only it's in paperback format. so i realized i ain't no senile yet (although i love that i had a good deal of 30% off seniors discount yesterday at the drug store :-P). ergo i made a side-by-side and included the fake peonies to put more colours in the photo.

i wonder how many books i have in duplicate?

playing with ann @olivetreeann this week for "little and/or large" theme of her 'for the love of L' challenge for this month. although she's still in hiding.

also tagging this for my get-pushed challenge set by my partner this week, kerstin @jothan whose challenge is for me to "take a photo with a word (or words) on it. You could find things with words on it or you could put it on the photo afterwards."

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are greatly appreciated.

@jothan - kerstin, here's my response to your challenge. i might have another one, but for now this is it. hope you approve!

I have to laugh. I do the duplicate books thing, and then don't remember I read it until 1/3 of the way through when something makes a remaining brain cell fire and I go, oh!

I like how you are including little and large into your shots. I did not even turn my computer on yesterday so I am falling behind, hopefully I can catch up over the next few days.

what fun; the peonies sort of look like memorials for the sunken.

It is one of those fascinating subjects and so tragic as it really could have been avoided. Good shot!

Great choice for the love of L I say. What the L? Why didn't you tag it twice? You have two large and little items? :-P

Haha, I am guilty of having duplicate books. I like hardcovers, because they are usually prettier, but they are so expensive. If I really like a book, I buy the hardcover, even if I already own a paperback edition. I try to give the duplicates away, but sometimes they stay in my bookshelf...
I like that you included the peonies in the shot, great colours!

Love how this Little/Big challenge is helping you find all sorts of things around the house! Once we finished renovating the house and started putting things away in their designated spots I discovered that I had about 15 tape measures, 8 bottles of Windex, 10 pairs of glasses, you name it, they were in multiples as they were so hard to locate before! Or, at least that's my story!
