across the street from the st. lawrence market building is the st. lawrence hall. there's a piazza between the hall and the building to its south where people can walk through from the st. james church to the market. the piazza is also used as an outdoor marketplace or flea market during summer, or for other summery outdoor activities. if anyone wishes to shoot geometrical shapes, one needn't go far enough as these white brick columns with their domed outlights are gorgeous especially in the daylight when the sunlight draws on them the squiggly and vein-like shadows of the bare trees. it is one of the more engaging features of the building.
this is a grand slam dunk post: this underwent quite a good deal of processing - processed from raw in pse11 (i could go crazy with those sliders, mind you, but only sometimes), then in ribbet for a full cross process tone and half the fireside tone to get to this shade, 80% hdr and 50% silver screen tone, then back to cross process and fireside. the photo was screaming "enough!" so i am tagging it for the current ETSOOI challenge. speaking of tags, i got buildings and shadows so that qualifies, n'est-ce pas? then there is the forthnight black and white with its light and shadows theme. also for the six-word story challenge that is currently running. i'm a slacker, aren't i?
thank you for your generous faves on yesterday's fire escape photo. much appreciated folks. i am slow with my commenting as now it's tax time and i must concentrate on that or else i'd go to the penitentiary if i don't file my taxes on time. i smell 'refund' and perhaps a new camera. but that's jumping ahead.
