that's maggiemae and her husband john, checking out the hotel where they stayed several years ago when visiting toronto.
they're here in canada to visit their pilot son's family and meet their latest granddaughter. we had the opportunity to meet up with them yesterday. it was great to meet friends in person. maggiemae is all i imagined her to be, voice and mannerisms, i warmed up to her instantly, as well as with john who is such a sweet man. funny thing was i instantly recognized them. they didn't see me right away, but when maggiemae turned around and saw me, she knew right away.
we managed to bring them by the CN tower but we couldn't go up as elevator time wait alone was 30 minutes, the lineup is horribly long and it was hot! we cooled ourselves down by the waterfront then went to the royal york hotel to have iced tea. it was a lovely day.
Argh!! The spirit was willing but the body wasn't able. This weekend was my granddaughter's graduation and party. Out-of-town company and so much to do to help get ready kept me from focusing on anything but my family. It killed me though to know that she is so close and that I could see all three of you with one visit. I absolutely love this photo of the two of them in front of the clock too
Always good to meet fellow 365ers. And not surprised to see John sporting the Indian t-shirt (as we know he has a special relationship with this company).
