woke up late, and had a slow lazy breakfast of panetone bread and green tea, watching the morning glow of traffic on the highway 401. the gifts i had received (so far, it's still early yet) were all on the table. i still have this habit of opening my gifts on Christmas morning so whilst enjoying the hot tea and the view of the traffic, i opened some of the gifts.
first one were two new bestseller books from my boss. he would always hear me discussing books and book plots with one of his senior associates so he knew books are a safe gift for me. yay! i need a fourth shelf for my books.
second one, from my pseudo-niece, was all fancied up, papers, ribbons and all the jazz. a big box of ferrero rocher chocolate. that one has to be put away in a discreet place so i would forget it and not have to eat it, or if anyone comes to visit, i need not share any. hahahahahaha!
third gift was a small box that was very light and i figured must be a gift card. inside was a small velvet pouch which held a long silver chain and swarovski crystal pendant and beads. right away i thought of what i was going to wear today for dinner with friends tonight - a black mock turtle neck sweater, and this necklace was just perfect to go with it! maybe i shall take a selfie?
which reminds me, that for my get-pushed challenge this week set by andrea feeman
@andifree i have to interpret the expression "third time's a charm". that's literally and practically a charm the third time, get it? let's go with that then.
oh, and there was indeed a gift card within the same box, for $50 for use at one of the big malls around toronto. what a lucky so-and-so i am, non? maybe i shall buy books with it.
