i think this borders on the texture assignment this week (paper, metal) and next week's composition and rule of thirds.
i'm never good with this book heart thingie. i'm amazed at how a lot of the photographers in here could get it so well and no matter how hard i try this is the best that i could come up with. never mind, i'm pretty sure i'm equally good at something else.
and the tag challenge. i got book and gold. the book is my gigantic dictionary and my solitaire ring is gold. well, you can't see it because the photo is in black and white, but trust me, it's gold.
@jackie8 - no, it's all that easy. not quite happy with it. the lighting has to be at a certain angle to get the heart shadow and the camera also at the right position to capture the shadow. i've seen photos with a fuller heart shadow with normal rings and for some reasons i can't figure out, mine isn't coming out the same. @grammyn@salza@northy
I like this. I think you have nailed it here. I have tried this and failed quite miserably, and have no idea how people manage to keep the ring upright!
Looks like a good heart to me. I've never tried it, but don't know if I'll ever want to either. Those ridiculous oil and water shots have sort of soured me on these catchy things! Good shot.
