week 8 of my 52 portraits of me and the prompt for today is 'winter'.
it was a problem because after the thick fog this morning we had a spring like weather here in toronto. then all too sudden towards the late afternoon, temps went down way south with strong nasty winds. plus i didn't have time to go to the beaches or the skating rink as i am packing for my move to the 22nd floor on wednesday and i'm not even near finished packing.
so got to dig in the archives when the lakes froze for two consecutive years. used layers in ribbet and that's it for me for today. want to help me pack? i have too much shit it's disgusting!
very nicely done... for a second there i was wondering where you took this given what the weather has been like of late... then i read that this is from the archives... i hate packing... i moved a lot when i was younger and always drank a bottle of vodka whilst packing ;p
Like @northy 's suggestion of the vodka, but perhaps take afterwards?? It's the nnpacking I hate, never enough cupboards! Clever to turn yourself into an ice-maiden.
Love this, you look like a native American princess. Very fierce and strong. Why did you decide to move to a different place? Do not like where you are or better shots from higher up?
@catsmeowb - less expensive and too big for cleaning. i have 3 bedrooms now and not using one so it doesn't make sense to pay so much money. the new unit is a 2-bedroom with a much larger living room so i still have enough room for my photography. i hope to trim down my thingies before i retire. i decided to send half my books to manila to donate to rural libraries and schools. clothes as well. hopefully go through my manuscripts and make something useful as i really want to go back to writing. i. don't think i have much future in photography, but writing is what i really like to be doing. makes sense you think? thanks, my friend.
Fabulously subtle. Wish I could help you pack. It's not a fun task to have to do. Downsizing stuff is something that I really have to get onto. I need to do some research into where I can donate stuff that's still useful but surplus to our needs. The books are easy as our local animal charity has a book stall.
@summerfield makes perfect sense. i have been throwing things out left and right. malcolm is trying to get me to throw away a reel-to-reel tape recorder with 43 tapes my father gave me because we have not set it up in more than 18 years. no, he has not. i don't know how to do it. but some of these are hendrix, joplin, boston, elton john, beatles. cnsy - it is a running battle. he keeps saying $$$$$, i keep saying memories.
Hi! We haven't been Get Pushed partners for a quite a while. Like me, you have done just about everything. So, since you are in the process of moving, how about trying an ad shot of your old apartment of your new one, such as for a realtor ad? Hope that works for you.
I would be right there if you lived in Alabama to help you pack
