the wedding rehearsal was held late this morning. the venue was the Ruby Hills Resort, a private golf club in Pleasanton. beautiful place, so exclusive, the houses were magnificent, surrounded by lush verdant hills and sun-washed gardens, and the golf course is just astounding. at the main courtyard where the wedding will be held tomorrow, i took shelter from the hot california sun under a canopy of an old wisteria vine. i love wisteria and i was rather disappointed that the flowers have gone. but when i looked up, i saw right above me this single strand of blue flowers hanging on perhaps just for me. i couldn't reach it but i photographed it.
been on my feet all day and still have a lot to do. i at the last minute opted out of the pre-wedding beauty preps - $100 hair and $40 make up. if i can pretty up myself when i'm doing self-portraits, then i can save my $140 by pretending i was going to do a fiveplustwo self-portrait. i'm not the star of the show anyway.
but this old hag still got it. this morning on my way to the restaurant, there were two older gentlemen (by older i mean they weren't young, and they were wearing what looked like pilot uniforms), pulling their little bags as they conversed along the hotel's garden path. as we neared, i greeted them good morning, for that's what you do when you're in a strange place. they returned my greeting. then when we have passed, i heard one of them said, "i'm sorry, i got distracted there by the pretty lady." one of the young people who were inside the lobby looking out gardens through the glass windows, teased me when i came in, "tante, those guys are still looking back at you." whereupon i made a show of patting my hair and told them, "yes, old tante's still got it, kiddos!" and they hotdogged it. those darn kids.
Love your story! You don’t need a makeup and hair appointment, you always look wonderful! Great capture of the single bloom, the resort must be beautiful.
I'm sure the sisters was there just for you. I love your story. If course you distracted the pilots. You are a beautiful woman. And you certainly don't need the $140 make up and hair do.
No surprise at all but you distracted them. Surprised that all they did was look! What a beautiful Picture you have taken to illustrate the song. So glad you got to see the one blossom hanging on just for you!
What is a wedding rehearsal for? Obviously I know what a rehearsal is, but do the ceremony twice?? Don't get it!
