depth

assignment: Use visual cues to imply the 3rd dimension in your 2 dimensional shot.

whatever.

i'm clueless when it came to this assignment for composition, and the next few days are also rather daunting. so, going by the examples from emma davies, i suppose, this shot shows how long this path actualy is by the size of the people at the end and the boats on the horizon. what d'ya think?

i shall see you tomorrow, folks!
Working also from your "whatever" because I'm not sure how I'd approach this, but the black railing is quite strong and gives a sense of anchoring the space between the bath and the water... (how does that sound? : )

I like that diagonal leading line to the little peeps

Very three-dimensional!

I think you are protesting too much, and have the three dimensional aspect of your photo neatly displayed here. It is all in that leading line and the decreasing scale of the fence posts.

Very three dimensional, especially on black. I agree with Helen Jane @helenhall

It definitely is a very interesting shot, as for the rest I am clueless too ;-)

This is a wonderful shot with great leading lines. I think the three dimensions would be length, width and then height or depth (make it as you could just reach out and touch your subject in other words) is what she must mean.
Maybe not ... just musing here.

What is the 3rd dimension ....what is the 2nd? I'd have to look that up. No real pathway here but it looks well trodden and has a lovely view!

I think the composition is good. If depth is the challenge, it is a rather ambiguous term. Seems you show a long shoreline which is an example of depth.

I would struggle too and think you have done a terrific job of illustrating the concept

Works for me, my friend.

The fence provides a striking division between land and water, and perhaps implies separation between dimensions as well? It works nicely.
