there were no fireworks because the fog suddenly decided to come upon us that i could hardly see the balcony railing. it had been raining for most of the day then the fierce wind followed. fog is slowly lifting, but too late now to see the CN tower's fireworks. the children in one of the apartments had been making a racket with their tins and sticks and shouting at the top of their lungs "happy new year!"
since there are no fireworks to photograph, i decided to make starbursts out of the Christmas lights on my window.
thank you for your support throughout the year as well as your valuable comments and very generous favs. i hope to be a better commenter in the coming year, and i apologize that i had been too busy in my work as yet again, i start to count the months and days as this may be the year when i will be permitted to retire. however, know that i do visit your albums as often as i can.
resolution for 2019: meet more 365 friends while i am still able. and if you find yourself in toronto, please let me know and dinner is on me and the arches of UofT tradition will have to be duly observed.
Happy New Year Vikki. I always enjoy your visits to my project, but as with everyone, I never expect them. We are all busy people. I always enjoy your posts - your creativity, your effort , your narratives and oh your stories - all so entertaining. Thank you. And this makes a delightful replacement to the firework shot. I'm full of admiration for the photographic gems you have achieved with your decorations this year.
I like how you MADE a festive light scene when there wasn't one available in the sky. And, I like your resolution. I noted on my Jan 1 post for us to all have good photo ops and good friends -- and you combined that in your sentiment. I've actually met quite a few 365ers -- maybe 20? But more would be nice. Let's try to meet in person in 2019!
