not what it used to be by summerfield

not what it used to be

this would've been my entry for the latest album cover but i forgot all about it and now i missed out on it.

this lone figure in the football field near my building and visible from my balcony tells the story of our time, when social distancing is to be observed even though it seemed we are going back to doing normal things again. in general, the public is cautious and there are just those few asinines who serve as thorns on our sides, simply for believing that this pandemic is just a big hoax or that they believe they are immune to the disease. in the old normal, this would've been filled with soccer teams and spectators or students from the nearby school just hanging about. the old normal. it will be a long time before we get to that old normal again, if we ever do.
Powerful scene and perfect for the times.

This makes for a perfect album cover. Sorry you missed the challenge. You couldn’t have asked for a better image to meet the quote.

The juxtaposition of the single player and the well groomed field is moving.

The curves say it too; are we still going in covid circles??
