"the gods may throw the dice
their minds as cold as ice
and someone way down here
loses someone dear"
- b. andersson/b. ulavaeus
my grandson onyx was visiting yesterday and i was busy feeding him; i swear he's like a giant hoover! and of course, like grandma, he likes chocolate. saw the big container of ferrero rocher that i've been slowly consuming and there was still more than 20 pieces. after all he had eaten, he was begging for just one piece so i let him. and told him to wrap it up and he could take them home to his daddy. was he ever happy! he left two pieces for me, at least, which i found out later on when i was cleaning up. and he didn't want to leave, always telling my sister, just a bit more. my sister couldn't make him take a shower but just before they were supposed to leave i convinced him. he ate a whole bag of tortilla corn chips. 'tis a good thing he doesn't visit every weekend like when the two older boys, his half-brothers, were still young, or i'd go bankrupt. i swear, groceries now costs double from before the lockdown.
when he left, and after i've cleaned up, i got sidelined by a headache and all i did was sleep until i woke up this morning with a headache from too much sleep.
i never liked abba so much when they became popular but this song i like very much -- the beat, the poignant lyrics.
lovely dice stack - I'm not sure how you did balance them. Sounds like you had quite a weekend with your hoover visitor - but hopefully fun. I too went to bed with a headache and woke up with one - so you have my heartfelt sympathy. Hope all is well now.
Another fabulous shot using the dice. Iām sorry about your headache but you obviously needed the sleep. A good song for your photo. Also sounds as if you had a grand visit with your grandson. I too have one that would eat me out of house and home if I would let him.
@grammyn - hahaha! i was supposed to bake some frozen cookie dough but i forgot. as soon as he saw his dad, he told him that he needed to come back to see me soon as the cookies are waiting for him. what a so-and-so.
so well done! like the space around them. enjoyed your story too. i remember when our three boys were in the teens - the fridge was always bare, even if i'd just been to the supermarket
